Known as the Local's Deli as it is the place where locals come for reasonably priced breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, delicious coffee, hot and cold sandwiches and salads.
We are a small shop so we need versatile people to take the position of Cashier.
The job does involve taking orders but also helps out with everything except for cooking (Cooks focus on that role).
But there is also an opportunity to do the Cook job too for the right person.
Job duties are below.
Order Taking - Either working the Point of Sale (POS) system to take orders from walk up customers or answering the phone and taking orders over the phone.
Good communication and customer relation skills are important.
Expediting - After taking the order, you put the order together while the cooks make the main item (usually a sandwich, panini or burrito).
This means adding the sides, chips and drinks per the customer order.
Organizational skills are important.
Preparation - You'll support the cooks by preparing ingredients - slicing tomatoes, preparing fresh avocados, etc.
You'll need some basic cooking skills to carry this out.
Cleaning - We have a very small space so keeping on top of the dishes is important.
Most importantly, you'll need to be able to work in a team environment sometimes under pressure (during lunch) and pitch in where needed.
Pay starts at $16/hr.
We share tips and you should expect $3-5/hr more for a total wage of around $19-20/hr.
Demonstrate your professionalism and reliability and expect a pay increase too.
We recently change our hours so the shift is consistently 10-4.
We absolutely need someone Tuesday and Thursday but there could be weekend work or work on other days too if you want.
We are a small team but a fun one.
Losing one of our long term employees as she goes back to school full time so need someone to join our team.
