Interpreta is seeking a Lead Front End Developer interested in helping us create clinical applications (web and mobile) that will disrupt how physicians, patients, and health plans process and share healthcare information. Interpreta recognizes that user experience is the cornerstone of mobile and online product adoption. We are building a novel nanodiagnosis system that will incorporate large data sets including ultra-personalized genomic information to create actionable intelligence that helps providers and insurance plans improve patient wellness. To realize this vision, we are recruiting top shelf talent in our user experience, engineering and medical teams who will be building algorithms to process massive clinical and demographic data into action systems and professional social networking tools which will allow providers, plans and patients to close care gaps and improve personalized health care. You will work in tandem with one or more visual designers, project managers and other front end engineers on a user engagement team, which will be supervised by a practicing physician with engineering design and business experience in the healthcare software space.
The Lead Front End Developer's initial responsibilities will include:
Working with UX Architect and graphic designers on the overall product graphic vision that will make medical informatics easily digestible and usable by end-users
Laying and executing front end detailed technical specifications, including development environments, version control processes, and HTML and javascript frameworks for end products, emphasizing modularity and flexible object-oriented programming to accommodate various backend data threads
Collaborating with Project Manager/UX Architect, visual designers on execution from wireframe and prototype to final product
Interfacing with back-end software engineers on parsing and displaying complex data, and participating in internal API design in anticipation of an ever-expanding library of data types requiring front end display/engagement
Executing design methodologies that will support massively scaling to multiple simultaneous users, drawing inspiration from massive multiplayer online gaming user experiences and/or social media
Stewarding quality of front end engineering team's code base and development workflows, and leading by example with diligent work ethic
Requirements for the position include:
Bachelor's Degree in software engineering, computer science, or other similar discipline from an accredited college/university
At least 5 years work experience with demonstrable leadership in front end design and portfolio of extant functional apps/websites to review
HTML/HTLM5/CSS proficiency
jquery, backbone.js, angular.js, node.js, V8 and/or other Javascript tools
bootstrap or similar toolkits
Skill in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Superb oral and written communication skills
Favorable consideration will be given to developers with experience in one or more of the following:
Healthcare application design, including electronic health records, health plan apps, provider websites, and/or patient portals
Video game design, with playable examples of your work
Social/streaming media app design
